Day 4 of basement renos

Day 4 of basement renos (May 3):

Today was the day the electrician came to start mapping out where all the electrical units and where all our lights would be. We are putting pot lights in the main living area and then ceiling lights for the rooms. Putting pot lights is taking a big chunk of the renovation budget, but it'll be worth it.

The contractors poured concrete (I think it's concrete?) over the subfloor in the washroom.

If you look at the ceiling you can see all the white electrical wires that the electrician put through all the
wooden frames. The contractor couldn't really do much work while the electrician was here so they did
most of their work in the afternoon when the electrician left.

The next thing that the contractors are going to put in are the dry wall. I'm excited about this because
it will really make me visually what the space is going to look like.

You can start to see the framing of the half shelf that they are going to be putting up. I mentioned
this in yesterday's post.

Here's a sketch of the half shelf that the contractor drew. We will put decorative accents on the shelf.

On all the electrical outlets the electrician put some sort of plastic film around.

This is our fuse box. I'm getting dizzy looking at all the wiring.

See all the wiring going through all the 2 x 4 wooden frames?

The contractors started putting framing around our vent ducts.

That's the vent in our washroom.

They started putting dry wall in our shower area in the bathroom.

They put a plastic film before they put the dry wall up.
