Jewelry mini haul

y camera is finally fixed! Yay!
When I dropped it off to get it fixed they told me it would take a maximum of 2 weeks and it's been over a month now. I can't believe how much I relied and loved my camera until I didn't have it anymore. I've wanted to share with you guys so many new things that I've gotten in the past month, but I wasn't able to. The first thing I wanted to share with you is my obsession with costume jewelry. Other than my own jewelry line I've been amassing quite a jewelry collection. Most specifically I've been obsessed with necklaces. I love how they can dress up a plain top. I do love my simple necklaces, but for some reason I'm really drawn to statement necklaces lately. I know some of you guys already know that I got 2 pieces from Amrita Singh on Hautelook, but I just wanted to show you the necklaces close-up.

My first necklace from Amrita Singh was the Pachac Necklace in Coral. At first I wasn't sure if I loved it
because the necklace was so light. It felt a little cheap. Plus, the resin wasn't as nice in person
as in the photos. However, after wearing it several times I love it. I've gotten several compliments on it-
not just from friends and co-workers, but total strangers. It's such a statement piece.

The second Amria Singh piece was the Cary Necklace. This necklace is much heavier than the
Pachac Necklace and it's got so much detail. I love wearing this just over my neck with a
plain, loose-fitting top.

This is the Tiffany & Co. Toggle Bracelet in Onyx that I got from my husband for my 31st birthday.
I know I already did a blog post on it, but I thought I would include it in this jewelry haul because
I absolutely adore this bracelet. It's so unique with the onyx beads.

My last piece is the Psalm 91:1 necklace that I bought from the craft fair I participated a few weeks ago.
Psalm 91:11 was another vendor there and I bought this necklace with my friend. It's a beautiful
necklace, but my only qualm is that the chain near the top already started oxidizing and I didn't
wear it that much...

31 is the new 21

Besides the age thing, I had an awesome day. I had a perma-smile plastered across my face all-day today. Why can't everyday be my birthday?!?!

The day started off with my husband putting my gift in my son's toddler bed this morning. It was in a Tiffany's blue bag and he had the handle touching my son's hand while he was sleeping. What a perfect way to start the day- with some bling!

Now, I'm not a huge fan of Tiffany's like most girls are, but I absolutely loved what he got me. It's a black onyx, toggle bracelet. I've never seen anything like it.

So beautifully wrapped.

Weeeeeeee! I couldn't stop looking at my wrist the whole day.

Isn't it so unique? I much prefer this than the classic silver bracelet.

My SLR is currently in the shop so I had to make do with capturing the bracelet with my crappy iPhone
camera.

Current obsession

y husband has been noticing that I've been changing nail colours almost every single day. The other day I was showing him my nails that were painted in China Glaze's For Audrey and this is how our conversation went:

Me: "Does this colour remind you of anything?
Hubby: "Ummmmm..."
Me: "You've bought me something from this store in the past."
Hubby: "Ummmmm..."
Me: "It's a jewelry store..."
Hubby: "I don't know."
Me: "It's the same colour as the Tiffany's box!"

Hubby: "So?"
He honestly couldn't have cared less. I wanted to share with someone my excitement, but I guess I went to the wrong person. I know my co-worker would have been excited to hear about this. I got her to get Chanel's Paradoxal nail polish and she's been wearing it quite a lot. Her go-to nail polish, however, is OPI's Bubble Bath. It's the most beautiful pink nail colour. It looks amazing on her.

Well, in my last nail polish post I talked about wanting to get China Glaze's Secret Peri-Wink-Le and Re-Fresh Mint. I was looking for it all weekend, but I had no luck. Today (my first day back at work in 2 weeks!) I went out during my lunch break to try again. I was able to find Secret Peri-Wink-Le, but I couldn't find Re-Fresh Mint. Sigh. Whenever I can't find something that I want I always end up buying something else to fulfill that need. So here's what I got today:

This is China Glaze's Secret Peri-Wink-Le. It's the perfect muted blue. After trying For Audrey I'm loving the creamy texture of this polish.

OPI's Ali's Big Break. This is from Burlesque's Collection. The other colours were beautiful too, but I loved how this was a lipstick red with fine shimmers. Can't wait to try this one.

OPI's What's With the Cattitude? I've been eyeing this colour too for a while. I don't have a colour like this in my collection and it would be a perfect spring shade.

OPI's You Don't Know Jacques. This is the infamous colour that's been talked about a lot. Can't wait to try this one as well.

At the moment I am wearing Lancome's Le Vernis in Metropolitan Beige from the French Coquettes Collection. This photo was taken from my iPhone so it doesn't do it justice. It's a BEAUTIFUL colour. It's a nude, peachy pink with fine gold shimmers. I cannot stop looking at my nails. It makes me look so chic and polished.

So I'm still on the look-out for China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint... I went to a different Sally's Beauty Supply and I bought Re-Fresh Mint. However, the texture of it isn't the same as For Audrey or Secret Peri-Wink-Le. Maybe I got a bad one? It went on really thick and streaky. Not sure if I love it...

Breakfast at Tiffany's

ver since I saw a post in Elle Hearts Blogs about China Glaze's For Audrey Nail Lacquer, I've been obsessed with getting my hands on this. This morning I went to Sally's Beauty Supply to see if they had this colour. I've never used China Glaze nail polishes before so I was curious to see how the formulation would be. Let me just say that I LOVE IT! I love it better than Essie. I only needed 2 coats to get the colour in the bottle. It was so creamy and nice. I'm definitely going to check out other colours. I'm eyeing Re-Fresh Mint and Secret Peri-Wink-Le.

I also picked up OPI's Nail Envy Nail Strengthener for Dry & Brittle Nails. My nails have been extremely brittle so I'm hoping this will cure it. It was quite expensive- $17.50 to be exact. It better work!

I put 2 coats of Nail Envy, 2 coats of China Glaze and 1 coat of my favourite top coat- Seche Vite.
