Lacquered jewelry boxes

ne of my favourite places to shop for home goods is HomeSense. I can find amazing deals there and I'm usually able to find highly coveted items on my wish list for almost 70% off.
I've been wanting a lacquered jewelry box for a long time now and I've seen them at West Elm and Indigo, but they were much too expensive for my liking. Indigo always has a great sale and the one that I was looking at actually went on sale for $22.50. I was really close to purchasing it, but then I spotted the lacquered jewelry boxes at HomeSense while I was there casually browsing with my sister last weekend.

Here is the West Elm Lacquer Jewelry box. It's beautiful, but at $52.50-$84.64CAD (depending on size) a pop it was way out of my price range.

Below is the Indigo Lacquer Jewelry Box. The regular price was $45, but it's now on sale for $22.50.

And the ones below are the lacquered jewelry boxes I picked up from HomeSense. They are much bigger than the ones I showed you above and the front has an Asian design emblem. Sort of reminds me of the Givenchy logo. I picked up a smaller white one and a larger turquoise/sea foam green coloured one.

I put the turquoise/sea foam green one in my bedroom on top of my dresser and moved the white one
to my office bookshelf. 

Isn't it beautiful?

The only negative I have is that it doesn't come with a removable compartment like the West Elm
and Indigo one. The box is quite deep so it doesn't really make sense to use it as a jewelry box.

So the smaller white one was $19.99 and the larger one was $24.99. I love a good deal!

New purse

emember when I mentioned a while back that I got 25% back in gift card for my purchase of the YSL Arty Ring at Holt Renfrew? Well, I didn't read the fine print properly and I realized I only had until the end of May to use that gift card before it expired. Originally I wanted to get the Kate Spade Gramercy Grand Watch in gold, but to my dismay it was sold out! I guess I waited too long to get it. I only had a couple of days left until May 31 so I started stalking Holt Renfrew during my lunch break trying to find something that appealed to me. I didn't want to get something just for the sake of buying something. I wanted something that I would LOVE. Well, I found something that I LOVE. I'm not a huge Michael Kors fan because I find that everyone has it and I'm so sick of seeing everyone with the Michael Kors watch, but I was immediately drawn to the colour and the style of this bag.

This is the Michael Kors Hamilton tote in Saffiano leather. The colour is called Tangerine.
It's not the slouchy Hamilton tote that I've seen everywhere with the chain and leather strap. This
sort of reminds me of a Birkin.

The colour is just gorgeous. The leather is really sturdy so I don't have to worry about being too
careful with it. 

The size isn't huge, but I like it. I'm not a tall person- I'm 5'3" so this size is perfect for me.
The purse comes with 2 straps- a short handle and a long, removable handle. I mainly use the short
straps so I tied the long handle in a knot so that it's not dangling everywhere.
