Have an open mind

No sane fashionista would ever step foot in the Crocs store. My co-worker and I would always joke that we would never buy anything from there. Well, never say never, because guess who bought something at the Crocs store? None other than me, myself and I. I actually went in to buy my mom a pair of Crocs. While I was browsing I came across these Wellies and I couldn't believe how cute they were and how cheap they were! I ended up leaving the store with a pair of Crocs sandals for my mom and a pair of Wellies for me.

My whole family is obsessed with Crocs. My younger sister works at a hospital and she swears by them because they are so comfortable. I guess she doesn't mind because she is in scrubs all day. This is actually my 2nd pair of Crocs. I bought my first pair back in 2011 because I was suffering from Plantar Fasciitis. So even though this is technically my 2nd pair I don't count the first one because it was purely for health reasons.

The store had a army green pair (the one I got) and a black pair. I got these last week
so you may still be able to get it on sale like me. I also see that they are on sale online.

I got it on sale for $39.99 + $5 off (because I spent more than $50).
I normally wear a size 6 in shoes, but they didn't have a 6 so I got a size 7. It is a little
big on me, but once I wear thick socks I think it should be ok.

I love how light-weight they are and that they have a rubber grip at the bottom.
The fabric detail up top can also be removed and washed, I think.

Here's how it looks on.
I have Hunters Wellies and these are much more light-weight. I also love how they don't
look like your typical Crocs.

The side view.

So my lesson for you all? Don't judge a book by its cover. I'm now going to keep an
open mind before banning a brand altogether.

Emmie necklace

My Emmie necklace came in the mail today. I ordered it on December 15 and it was shipped out on December 18. I think because of the holiday schedule it got to me later than it would have.
So for those of you who are considering purchasing this necklace from Jenn's Etsy store here are my initial thoughts. She will be restocking on January 7, but if you follow her on Instagram- @jenn5716 she posts what pieces she will be listing. You have to act fast if you want to get anything from her because she sells out fast!

Inside the box (shown at the top of this post in white) included a card and a business-
sized card.

The back of the card had this sweet note from Jenn.

This was on the back of her business-size card. It's basically a care card on how you
should take care of your necklace.

And here she is- the Emmie necklace in Tri Color. She makes them in lots of different
colours.

The necklace is tied with a black ribbon. The necklace also came with a velvet
drawstring pouch to store the necklace in.

Here's a close-up. I think she colours the stones with nailpolish? I'm not sure.
But you can definitely tell when you inspect them closely that the coloured stones are
painted.

Here's a quick photo that I took of myself wearing the necklace. I know it's winter, but
I thought the necklace would look great with my green silk tank. The green colour picks
up on the green of the necklace.

I also tried it on with my heart J Crew sweater. I like how it overlaps the collar on
this sweater.

Another shot taken with my SLR camera.

So I really do like this necklace and I plan on wearing it with casual outfits, but it can definitely be dressed up. I just think it looks better with a plainer outfit. The only thing that I didn't like is the weight of this necklace. It's not very heavy and the quality of the stones look like something you can buy at a H&M or Forever 21. I'm not saying it should be a super heavy necklace, but it didn't feel expensive… It was close to $50CAD so I would have expected the materials to be a bit better. HOWEVER, that being said, I think it's totally unique and I love how it looks like with something I pulled quickly from my closet.

Live Colorfully

Don't you love checking things off your wish lists?
If you guys follow my blog you'll know that I've been eyeing this Kate Spade watch for a while now. Well, I was absolutely shocked when I got my belated birthday present from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. The reason why it took so long for it to get to me (my birthday was on August 12) was because this particular style was out-of-stock. I'm just in shock at their generosity and for getting the best gift ever!

Here is the beautiful watch. It's a too big so I have to get some links removed.
Isn't it gorge? If you guys want to know the style it is the Gramercy Grand in gold.

Here is the box it came in.

Look at the beautiful tissue it was wrapped in. I'm going to keep it.
It was bound by a beautiful, gold Kate Spade sticker.

The watch came with a cute card. It's printed in a card stock. I think I'm going to
frame it and display it somewhere.

And here she is.

So classic and beautiful.

I love their packaging. The inside of the box has gold polka dots and the bottom of
the box says 'Live Colorfully.'

Even the back of the watch face says 'Live Colorfully.'

Close-up of the card.

Bubble bauble

You know all those bubble necklaces that's been all over the fashion blogs? Well, I'm obsessed with them. The original is from J Crew, but it's ridiculously priced at well over $150 in Canada. I then saw them on eBay for under $15 each. It's not quite the same as the J Crew necklace as the screws at the bottom of each bauble is different, but it's pretty darn close. I ordered 3 colours- green, turquoise and white. I got them yesterday and I absolutely love them. If you are interested in getting one for yourself please check out my eBay seller. The reason I bought it from them is because they had the true white colour that I wanted. Some sellers sell the white in a clear-ish/gray colour, not the opaque white. Plus, my seller had lots of different colours. All these necklaces had free shipping and they all came with a J Crew tag by the lobster chain. However, I know this isn't authentic as I had gone in the J Crew store and examined the real one carefully while I tried it on.

The turquoise one is coming out a little green against my green top, but it is
the turquoise one. This one is not as blue as I had expected. It's more of on the
greenish-turquoise side.

I love the white as I think it will be easy to pair this with a lot of clothes in my
closet. I love how the chains in all of these necklaces have an extension so that
you can wear it in different lengths.

I love this one too as the green is quite striking. Which one is your favourite?

I love a good sale

If you guys know me, you know I love a good sale. Who doesn't, right? Almost all the designer items in my closet were purchased on sale.
Last Tuesday I went to the mall and I spotted a huge sale on designer items at Holt Renfrew Last Call. Almost all their denim were 80% off on top of their already marked down price! I guess they were trying to get rid of their summer stock in preparation for the fall season. Then their other clothing items were 30-80% off. Initially I was going to get a pair of J Brand jeans in neon pink. I think they were $129 (already marked down from $239) + another 80% off. However, the checkout line was huge and my daughter started crying like crazy so I had to leave the store to feed her. By the time I went back those jeans were gone. I'm glad they were too because I got myself a pair of polka dot Paige denims. Yes, they are pretty trendy, but I think they will be easier-to-match than the neon pink pairs and I think I can still wear these going into the fall/winter season. Plus, I'm not sure if the whole colourful denim trend will be in fashion next summer.
I'm still trying to shed the extra 10lbs that I have (I already lost 20lbs of my pregnancy weight), but you can see how I look wearing them in the photos above. I also found this photo (see below) that I found online of a model wearing these jeans. I don't like how this outfit was styled (too flashy), but you get the idea how it will look. I think it'll look really great with my black motorcycle boots.
BTW, I got the jeans for just under $30!

I also got myself a beautiful silk Equipment top for 40% off. Initially I think they were $230, but it was marked down to $139 + I got an extra 40% off. I got this teal-coloured top for about $94 with taxes. I know that's still quite expensive, but I've always wanted an Equipment top. It feels amazing on and it looks great with cut-off denim shorts.

Prada Baroque

These have been on my wishlist for a while now. When I saw these on Stephanie and Rachel I decided I must have them. I know it's a little out there, but that's what I love about them. My husband thinks I look ridiculous in them, but I don't care. I like it and that's what matters, right? He thinks I should have gone with another pair of sunglasses that I was eyeing- the Chanel 5183, but I'm glad I settled on these Pradas.

Prada Baroques on Stephanie from Stephanie Sterjovski. I think hers are the tortoise shell ones.

Prada Baroques on Rachel from Pink Peonies. Hers is the black, which I got.

And here I am sporting my own pair of black Prada Baroques. I heart them!

I love the oversized, round frames.
