Sucker for pretty packaging

When I see something with pretty packaging I want to have it. Even if I don't need it. Are you guys like that too?
When I first saw the Topshop line of cosmetics I was blown away by the packaging. I have never seen anything like it. Having a background in graphic design I liked how graphic it was and it was something I had never seen on any cosmetic packaging. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I saw the cosmetics line in person when Topshop opened where I currently live. I wanted it, but I ended up not getting it for some reason. It's been on my mind ever since and today I finally gave in and bought a few things. I actually bought everything that I had my eye on since I don't get to go to a mall often.

I'm not in love with the Topshop bags. I think it looks kind of cheap.

I can't say the same thing about the cosmetic packaging. It's gorgeous! I'm going to be keeping the
boxes. They are too pretty to throw out. I got 5 things- 2 lipsticks, 2 blushes, and 1 bronzer.

The first lipstick I got is called Innocent. It's a mauve-y pink. It was $17CAD.

The lipstick is in a matte, brushed metal package. It's so pretty.

Here is the colour. It's very close to MAC's Creme Cup. I would say this colour is a touch more mauve.

The second lipstick I got is called On The Town.

It's a wearable purple. I love this lipstick.

The first blush is called Pop. It was $13CAD.

The blush packaging has pencil dots all at the top.

It's not coming out true to colour, but it's a neon coral.

This blush is called Powdered.

This is a neon pink. I get reminded of MAC's Pink Swoon, but this is more neon.

I got the bronzer in Holidaze. The one lighter than this one was also pretty, but I think this colour
will show up more on my skin. I'm not a huge bronzer person, but I just could not resist this one.
It was $17CAD.

The bronzer lid has pencil lines across.

Here is the colour. It swatches beautifully and it has fine gold shimmer.

See all the packaging all together. So lovely. I wish I had gotten some of their eye brushes. They were
pretty affordable- around $9-$11.

Here's a swatch of On The Town and Innocent lipstick.
I tried On The Town on my lips at the store and I love it. I'm sure I'll love Innocent too.
The finish of these lipsticks feel like MAC's Cremesheen formula- very smooth and moisturizing. However
I did swatch a coral colour (I forgot the colour of the lipstick) and that felt like it was a different
formula. It was dry and I could just tell that it would emphasize all my lines on my lips.

Here are the blush/bronzer swatches. From left to right: Pop, Powdered, Holidaze.
These are silky smooth and the colour payoff is excellent.

Pretty mug

Yesterday I was at the mall with the fam and I had to go in Hallmark to buy a birthday card for my father-in-law. While I was at the checkout I noticed a bunch of mugs that were too cute for words. They are Helly Kitty for Momiji mugs. I've never heard or Momiji until now, but basically they are known for their hand-painted message dolls. They have quite the following. I saw the Hello Kitty Momiji dolls at the store, but I passed on it. However, I really want to see their other collection. When I see the dolls on their website they are super cute and would look so cute on my bookshelf. I'm thinking it would make great Christmas presents too for my friends. Anyways, enough of my blabbering and now to the mug.

I really like the Hallmark bag. It's so pretty. I save all my shopping bags and put it in a nice box
in my closet. Just a random FAQ about me.

Isn't she a beauty? It's kind of a mini mug, not the giant mug that you see nowadays.

Here's the other side. I didn't even realize it was a Hello Kitty collection until I saw this. I was
more drawn to the girl on the mug.

Here's a close-up.

Here's the bottom of the mug. The mug was $7.99CAD.

They had different designs and characters in other mugs, but I chose this one because it looked the most
like me. I'm going to be bringing this to work and using it as my drinking mug.

I didn't even realize there was a Hello Kitty print on the inside of the mug until I came home. Isn't it
cute?

The more the merrier

Erivor Necklace
Here's another Amrita Singh haul. Actually I just ordered it today on Enviius which is much like Hautelook- a members only, online shopping site that has heavily discounted brands daily. Enviius is the Canadian counterpart of Hautelook. I had ordered Amrita Singh jewelry from Hautelook in the past, but I find Enviius is MUCH cheaper. I think it was up to 90% off! Plus, since it's Canadian I find the shipping rate a bit cheaper. So if you are interested in getting some Amrita Singh jewelry, now is the time! Hautelook also has Amrita Singh on sale right now.
Now onto the goods.
I got 3 things today. The first item (shown at the very top) is a GORGEOUS necklace called the Erivor Necklace. It says on Enviius that the regular price was $300CAD, but I got it for $32CAD. How sweet is that??? It's made of resin beads and the chain is 18k gold-plated brass. I think the necklace will look fantastic with a plain tee. It'll really dress it up. It also came in red, but I like how the black looks. Plus, you can mix & match it better.
Clara Earring in Brown Pearl, $11CAD. Down from $90CAD. I should have
actually looked at this more closely. It's actually huge. I thought it was a
delicate earring, but it's 1.25" x 1.25". I saw it on a model on Amrita Singh's
website and I'm reallynot sure about this purchase. However, it's only $11.

Rosaline Earring in Amethyst, $16CAD. Down from $120CAD. This one is so gorgeous!
I wanted the Blue Lapis colour too. This will look so good with my hair pulled back.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair

The Luxy Hair Extensions I bought last week was to wear to a wedding that I attended this Saturday. It's super long! I still have to play around with the hair as I'm still not used to it. I also need to learn how to curl it properly so that it doesn't look so stringy.

All I have to say is I just love getting dressed up. It's something that I miss doing. It's hard when you have a child pulling at everything you have on- earrings, necklaces, long hair… Plus, nice clothes don't look so good with drool and stains rubbed on by their little hands. Oh well :-P

Meet Cupid

So I returned the Modern Vintage shoes.
I just thought long and hard about it and I knew that I would totally wreck those shoes this winter. I'm really careless when it comes to shoes so I decided to return them for the Rebecca Minkoff Cupid Satchel. I was debating between the Morning After Bag and the Cupid, but in the end I settled for the Cupid. I just liked how the long strap was adjustable so I can wear it different ways. The Morning After Bag also had a long strap, but it was shorter and unadjustable. I could wear it over-the-shoulders, but not cross body. I tend to like cross body bags because they allow me to be hands-free. I had mentioned that the Cupid and MAB was on sale at Holt Renfrew so that's why I also wanted to get them. The Cupid was on sale for $389 and the MAB for $399. Originally they were $565 and $575 respectively. They only had the Cupid in teal (shown above) and the MAB in a muted orange. They also had the MAB in taupe and a dusk purple, but they were not on sale. I had called Holt Renfrew to see if they still had the teal Cupid and the SA said they did. I didn't think to ask her to put it aside as I made my way down to the store. When I got there the teal was gone! I started panicking and the SA told me that another customer was looking at the teal Cupid at that exact moment. The other customer was debating between the teal Cupid and the teal Classics 3-Zip Rocker Crossbody Clutch. The SA seemed to think that the other customer would get the smaller bag so she told me to sit tight and wait about 10 minutes. Those 10 minutes were like eternity. Luckily (and after a long, gruesome 20 minutes) the customer settled on the smaller purse and I got my Cupid! I present to you my new Rebecca Minkoff Cupid.

Isn't she a beauty? The colour is so vibrant and the leather is soooooo soft. As I was paying for the bag,
another customer asked my SA what purse I was purchasing and who it was by. The SA said it was the
last bag and the customer even went so far as to ask me if I was really going to purchase it.
Damn right I am!

Here is the back.

The zipper pocket has a leather flap over it so that it is hidden.

And here is the inside lining. I think they are sparrow prints? It reminds me of Marc Jacobs' purses.
Apparently she changes the lining each season. My dust bag (not shown) is also in this print.

The inside pocket had this authenticity card.

And here is the back of the card. There was also another card, but for some reason my purse didn't come
with one. I guess it fell out at one point? Basically it was a white card with a phone number and
a note saying, "Call me".

Here I am sporting the purse with the short handles.

BTW, I'm wearing my new Luxy Hair Extensions in the colour #1C. I'm the first customer to get
the #1C. I ordered the #2, but I got sent the colour #4. Luckily, since I live in the same city as the
Luxy sisters, Mimi sent her husband to my house to give me the correct order. How sweet of them,
right? I was going to get the #2, but then he said they were trying out a new colour (#1C) and he said
it would match my hair colour perfectly. And he was right!

Here's a close-up. I got these extensions because I got a horrible haircut 2 weekends ago.
I'm still not happy with the hair cut because they didn't thin it out at the ends so it looks like 1
blunt cut. I still have to get that fixed so that my natural hair blends in better with my Luxy
Extensions.

I'm going to try to do a Luxy Hair Extensions review in a future post, but I'm really loving it. It's
so soft!
